We've got lots of fun new things on the JSS horizon and we're excited to share them with you.
First off, there's a whole slew of new dates on our dance card. We'll be playing in the greater New York area quite a bit in the next few months and we'd love to see you out - everything from the Live From Down Home monthly concert series to the CD release party of our best buds in Goes Cube. Keep checking back into our website, as we'll be announcing more NYC area… Continue

This Thursday 3/5, come join us at Housing Works for another monthly installment of Live from Down Home. This month we'll be joined by our friends The Tall Pines. They'll take the stage at 8 followed by Jones Steet Station at 9. And as usual the show is free, but all proceeds from beer and wine and book sales go to the good folks at Housing Works... We love that you've been coming out in droves to support this great cause. Live From Down Home really feels like home… Continue

Hold on. We need to stop and take a breath.
After 4 days of opening up for Ben Kweller and the Watson Twins we need a moment to let all that fun properly sink in... Now, we've played some great rooms before, and we've enjoyed some inspirationally amped crowds. But these shows were a special kind of special. First, the venues were beautifully cavernous: the Somerville Theater in Boston, The Town Hall in NYC, the 9:30 Club in DC, and the Theatre of the… Continue

This Thursday 2/5, come join us at Housing Works for another monthly installment of Live from Down Home. This month we'll be joined by Brooklyn's own super talented bluegrass ensemble The Five Deadly Venoms. Be prepared to have your face melted with their virtuosic jams and original harmonic structures. We'll take the stage at 8 followed by the Venoms at 9. And as usual, all proceeds go to the good folks at Housing Works...
All you lovely NYC friends, don't… Continue

So our trusty van has returned us to Brooklyn, and now we're back at work putting the finishing touches on our new album. Our mini-tour was a fantastic success, and we're very grateful for all the help we've had along the way. We'd especially like to thank for their hospitality and generosity:
The Wells Family
The Erker Family
The Hull Family
The Rockwell Family & Aunt Sally

It's cold in the Midwest...
So we've confirmed our status as great and mighty idiots choosing a week of record setting cold to book a tour. We hit record lows in IN, 15 below in St. Louis, and a snow drenched Chicago. Check out the photo of Sam in Indiana at a gas station where the wiper in antifreeze fluid is a solid brick of blue. Woof!
But the cold has snapped for which we're quite thankful as we… Continue

Happy new year! Lots of news to share with you, so let me get right to the point – The Jones Street Boys (AKA The Band Formerly Known as The Jones Street Boys) have changed our name. We are now and evermore:
Jones Street Station
As much pleasure as we got out of the occasional listener as geeky as us that would come up and say, “Like The Jones Street Boys gang in the movie The Warriors?” we ultimately decided it was time. This’ll be the last email… Continue

This Saturday the Jones Street Boys will be playing at the Mercury Lounge with Lake Trout for their Live CD release party! You've got to come check it out as we'll be donating a portion of our door to the marvelous Justine Lucas as she heads to Cameroon to become the Program Director of the Global Conscience Initiative. For more information on Justine's good work, visit www.supercentral.org/justinelucas. As Saturday nights go, this one's a can't miss.

We hit the ground running last week after the return of the amazing Rockwell, playing Housing Works on back to back nights. We found ourselves loving every second of it: the Housing Works stage bucked to and fro under the energy of a rowdy TA crew, we joined our good friend Susan Enan on stage for her amazing song "Moonlight", and there was even an appearance of a dozen merry (drunk) elves in full elven regalia for on-stage Christmas carols. Not ones to rest on our… Continue

We're only two days into December and it's already careening dangerously close to out of control. Every year, without fail, the 12th month of the year sets out to test our mettle with undigestible fruitcake and an overabundance of social obligations.
Beat the winter blahs with The Jones Street Boys, this Friday 12/5! It's Live From Down Home @ Housing Works in NYC... But this one's super special: we'll be playing with our good-friend and fellow Brooklyner,… Continue

The JSB get back to our roots! With our brusingly dexterous drummer out on tour for the month of Nov., the other 4 members of the band have concocted a stripped out set of favorites, new and old. It ain't the JSB you (or we) know, but it promises to be a curiosity, maybe even of the freak-show variety: The JSB unplugged (sort of). Come on out next Thursday, 10/6 and join us for another of our favorite nights of the month: Live from Down Home @ Housing… Continue
